Texans monitor Jade Helm military training amid fears of government plot

It is, according to Chuck Norris, “likely more than a military exercise”.

For senior Texas politicians, it is enough of a concern that they demanded it be monitored by state armed forces. And for a great many citizens, it is at best a secretive and dubious show of military might and at worst, the prelude to martial law, Barack Obama confiscating their guns and locking innocent Americans in internment camps.

Whatever it truly is, Operation Jade Helm 15 begins on Wednesday in states across the south-west. Hundreds of people will be waiting for the troops when they roll in, watching closely.

A counter-surveillance operation called Counter Jade Helm has been set up and volunteers are aiming to locate, track and observe US soldiers as they carry out training drills.

Germany won’t spare Greek pain – it has an interest in breaking us

Greece’s financial drama has dominated the headlines for five years for one reason: the stubborn refusal of our creditors to offer essential debt relief. Why, against common sense, against the IMF’s verdict and against the everyday practices of bankers facing stressed debtors, do they resist a debt restructure? The answer cannot be found in economics because it resides deep in Europe’s labyrinthine politics.

Presidential candidate Martin O'Malley releases scathing open letter to Wall Street: 'I will not let up on you'

by Martin O'Malley

As you may have read, I’ve expressed grave concern about the state of our national economy, especially as it relates to the behavior of a select group of financial institutions on Wall Street—the institutions that you work for and represent.

I have called for significant structural and accountability reforms—like reinstating Glass-Steagall and increasing enforcement at the SEC, DOJ, and other agencies and departments—to prevent another economic crash and protect hard-working families from losing their jobs, homes, and life savings once again.

9/11 Miracles

Dr. David Ray Griffin returns to Town Hall in Seattle to explore why some of the best independent journalists in America accept without question the official conspiracy theories put forth by the 9/11 Commission and NIST (National Institute of Standard and Technology) in their investigations of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Using Bill Moyers and Robert Parry as examples of journalists who have previously demonstrated notable courage, objectivity and a willingness to examine crucial events in depth, rather than simply accepting a single-minded source.

Eric Holder, Wall Street Double Agent, Comes in From the Cold

Eric Holder has gone back to work for his old firm, the white-collar defense heavyweight Covington & Burling. The former attorney general decided against going for a judgeship, saying he's not ready for the ivory tower yet. "I want to be a player," he told the National Law Journal, one would have to say ominously.

Holder will reassume his lucrative partnership (he made $2.5 million the last year he worked there) and take his seat in an office that reportedly – this is no joke – was kept empty for him in his absence.

The office thing might have been improper, but at this point, who cares? More at issue is the extraordinary run Holder just completed as one of history's great double agents. For six years, while brilliantly disguised as the attorney general of the United States, he was actually working deep undercover, DiCaprio in The Departed-style, as the best defense lawyer Wall Street ever had.

Greek debt crisis: Goldman Sachs could be sued for helping hide debts when it joined euro

THE INDEPENDENT

Goldman Sachs faces the prospect of potential legal action from Greece over the complex financial deals in 2001 that many blame for its subsequent debt crisis.

A leading adviser to debt-riven countries has offered to help Athens recover some of the vast profits made by the investment bank.

The Independent has learnt that a former Goldman banker, who has advised indebted governments on recovering losses made from complex transactions with banks, has written to the Greek government to advise that it has a chance of clawing back some of the hundreds of millions of dollars it paid Goldman to secure its position in the single currency.

US torture doctors could face charges after report alleges post-9/11 'collusion'

The largest association of psychologists in the United States is on the brink of a crisis, the Guardian has learned, after an independent review revealed that medical professionals lied and covered up their extensive involvement in post-9/11 torture. The revelation, puncturing years of denials, has already led to at least one leadership firing and creates the potential for loss of licenses and even prosecutions.

For more than a decade, the American Psychological Association (APA) has maintained that a strict code of ethics prohibits its more than 130,000 members to aid in the torture of detainees while simultaneously permitting involvement in military and intelligence interrogations. The group has rejected media reporting on psychologists’ complicity in torture; suppressed internal dissent from anti-torture doctors; cleared members of wrongdoing; and portrayed itself as a consistent ally against abuse.

FBI: Church gunman shouldn't have been able to get gun

The gunman charged in the Charleston, South Carolina, church massacre should not been allowed to purchase the weapon used in the attack, FBI Director James Comey said Friday as he outlined a series of missed opportunities and incomplete paperwork that allowed the transaction to take place.

The problem stemmed from an arrest of Dylann Roof in South Carolina weeks before the shooting in which police say he admitted to possessing illegal drugs. Under federal rules, that admission alone should have been enough to disqualify him from an April gun purchase. But, Comey said, the FBI background check examiner who evaluated Roof's request to buy a gun never saw the arrest report because the wrong arresting agency was listed on the list rap sheet that she reviewed.

The transaction went through after three days because the examiner didn't have enough information to authorize or deny it.

MH-17 Case Slips into Propaganda Fog

The Dutch investigation into the shoot-down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over eastern Ukraine last July has failed to uncover conclusive proof of precisely who was responsible for the deaths of the 298 passengers and crew but is expected to point suspicions toward the ethnic Russian rebels, fitting with the West’s long-running anti-Russian propaganda campaign.

A source who has been briefed on the outlines of the investigation said some U.S. intelligence analysts have reached a contrary conclusion and place the blame on “rogue” elements of the Ukrainian government operating out of a circle of hard-liners around one of Ukraine’s oligarchs.

NSA Intercepts 98% Of South American Communications: Assange

The NSA is gathering and eavesdropping on practically all communications emerging from South America, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange told Chilean publication El Mostrador Tuesday.

“Ninety-eight percent of Latin American communications are intercepted by the NSA while passing through the United States to the world,” Assange said in an interview with the publication.

A large focus of Assange was related to the large swaths of information being collected by American tech companies, specifically Google and Facebook, and their relationship with the U.S. intelligence communities.

NSA spied on German Chancellors for 10 yrs, tapped 125 govt phone numbers – WikiLeaks

America’s National Security Agency has spied on German chancellors and their offices for more than 10 years, a new WikiLeaks report says. The three leaked NSA intercepts indicate that the US targeted 125 phone numbers of top German officials.

The National Security Agency’s (NSA) intercepts published on Wednesday show that Washington has been tapping the phones of the political offices of the last three German chancellors – Angela Merkel, Gerhard Schröder (in office 1998–2002) and Helmut Kohl (chancellor from 1982 to 1998), the whistleblowing site said in a report Wednesday.

The new list released on Wednesday of the so-called “selectors” includes 56 phone numbers for the Chancellor and the Federal Chancellery (Bundeskanzleramt) with almost two dozen telephone numbers which belong to Merkel’s current political entourage.

Greece is the latest battleground in the financial elite’s war on democracy

THE GUARDIAN

Greece may be financially bankrupt, but the troika is politically bankrupt. Those who persecute this nation wield illegitimate, undemocratic powers, powers of the kind now afflicting us all. Consider the International Monetary Fund.

The distribution of power here was perfectly stitched up: IMF decisions require an 85% majority, and the US holds 17% of the votes.

The IMF is controlled by the rich, and governs the poor on their behalf. It’s now doing to Greece what it has done to one poor nation after another, from Argentina to Zambia. Its structural adjustment programmes have forced scores of elected governments to dismantle public spending, destroying health, education and all the means by which the wretched of the earth might improve their lives.

Jeb Bush's Zionist Paymasters: Bloomberg and Rothschild

BOLLYN

The terror attacks of 9-11 and the subsequent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are immense crimes that have greatly shaped our current political reality.  In spite of the historical importance of these events, for nearly fourteen years the U.S. government and mainstream media have engaged in a conspiracy to promote a blatant cover-up about what happened on September 11, 2001.

While we may want to close the book on the sordid saga of 9-11, and the awful wars that followed, and get on with our lives by pretending that we live in a normal political situation, that would be living in denial.

We should understand that the 9-11 cover-up is an ongoing crime that has to be maintained by the criminal cabal that is behind it.

Bush says KSM admitted to using explosives on 9/11

What explosives? NIST never tested for explosives! This info could be used to help free KSM because according to the government -- there were no explosives!!! KSM couldn't have been the mastermind if he made such an egregious error during his confession! One could argue that he must have been out of his mind due to the severe torture he received. (For the sheeple, waterboarding is not an enhanced interrogation technique!)

We know who really used the explosives! How would KSM even get explosives into the WTC buildings?

Hacking Team Leaks Reveal Spyware Industry's Growth, Negligence of Human Rights

This week’s document leak from surveillance software vendor Hacking Team provided new details on the burgeoning growth of a private surveillance industry which has spread globally without any meaningful oversight. While revealing many new and concerning aspects of Hacking Team’s activities, it also confirmed a number of theories we’ve long suspected about their operations.

These revelations, which Privacy International’s Deputy Director Eric King has called “the equivalents of the Edward Snowden leaks for the surveillance industry,” have clear geopolitical significance, and it’s likely the story will continue to unfold as journalists and researchers around the world begin to unpack the trove of documents and emails contained within the leak and put them in context.

Chris Hedges: ‘What It Means to Resist’

In this clip from his June 7 talk in Los Angeles, Truthdig columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner Chris Hedges tells the very personal story of how teaching a class in a maximum security prison gave him deeper insights into what it means to stand up against injustice.

“I teach in a prison, and my students have taught me what it is to resist,” Hedges, the author of “Wages of Rebellion: The Moral Imperative of Revolt,” explains.
