Romney goes off-road with the truth

Mitt Romney spoke to supporters in the Ohio town of Defiance last week, but his words came from the twin cities of Duplicity and Deception.

“I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep, now owned by the Italians, is thinking of moving all production to China,” the Republican presidential nominee proclaimed, referring to the automaker President Obama saved from dissolution with taxpayer funds. “I will fight for every good job in America.”

Benghazi questions the Obama Administration must answer

WASH POST

The attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi has become a political football in the presidential campaign, with all the grandstanding and misinformation that entails. But Fox News has raised some questions about the attack that deserve a clearer answer from the Obama administration.

Fox’s Jennifer Griffin reported Friday that CIA officers in Benghazi had been told to “stand down” when they wanted to deploy from their base at the annex to repel the attack on the consulate, about a mile away. Fox also reported that the CIA officers requested military support when the annex came under fire later that night but that their request had been denied.

Militants can see what America’s drones see

Four years after discovering that militants were tapping into drone video feeds, the U.S. military still hasn’t secured the transmissions of more than half of its fleet of Predator and Reaper drones, Danger Room has learned. The majority of the aircraft still broadcast their classified video streams “in the clear” — without encryption. With a minimal amount of equipment and know-how, militants can see what America’s drones see.

Unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, have become the single most important weapon in America’s far-flung pursuit of violent extremists. Hundreds of American Predators and Reapers fly above Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan — watching suspected enemies, and striking them when necessary. Nearly 3,000 people have been killed in the decade-long drone campaign.

SANDY: Problems at Five Nuke Plants

ABC NEWS

The nation's oldest nuclear plant declared an alert and a second plant just 40 miles from New York City was forced to shut down power as five different nuke plants in Hurricane Sandy's path experienced problems during the storm.

Indian Point in Buchanan, New York, on the Hudson River north of New York City, automatically shut power to its unit 3 on Monday night "as a result of an electrical grid disturbance," according to Entergy, the plant's operator.

The connection between the generator and the offsite grid was lost, and the unit is designed to shut down to protect itself from electrical damage.

Nuclear Plants in Sandy's Path Brace for Storm

ABC NEWS

The federal government is sending extra inspectors to nine different nuclear power plants in the path of Hurricane Sandy, including Three Mile Island and New York's Indian Point, to make sure the plants are prepared.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says the extra inspectors will make sure "plant operators are making the proper preparations." All plants already have two inspectors on site equipped with satellite phones.

NEW STUDY: Anomalies of the air defense on 9/11

Journalof911Studies.com

The term "anomaly" as used in science means something that contradicts, or at least is not explainable by, a basic theory. Simultaneous anomalies can be "coincidences" but as they increase in number they may force a scientist to put his or her theory in question. Regarding air defense on
9/11 we can identify at least six major simultaneous anomalies.

1. Absence of command authority. The specific people who should have managed the air defense on 9/11 were absent precisely while the attacks were occurring.

Welcome to the Age of Hell: Entrenching Murder as the American Way

The Washington Post has just laid out, in horrifying, soul-slaughtering detail, the Obama Administration's ongoing effort to expand, entrench and "codify" the practice of murder and terrorism by the United States government. The avowed, deliberate intent of these sinister machinations is to embed the use of death squads and drone terror attacks into the policy apparatus of future administrations, so that the killing of human beings outside all pretense of legal process will go on, year after year after year, even when the Nobel Peace Laureate has left office.

They have even come up with a new euphemism for state murder: "disposition."

Obama’s Gitmo betrayal

Nearly five years ago, Gary Isaac, a corporate lawyer at a prestigious Chicago law firm, drank deeply from candidate Sen. Barack Obama’s rhetorical reservoir of hope and change. The change Isaac was most concerned about had to do with the operation, outside the rule of law, of the U.S. military prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Isaac was deeply involved, pro bono, in helping detainees challenge their detention in U.S. courts by asserting their rights under the ancient writ of habeas corpus, which requires that the state justify the detention of a person before a judge.

So convinced was Isaac that a President Obama would restore habeas for detainees that in February 2008 he published a blog called Habeas Lawyers for Obama, composed of one impassioned post, signed by 132 habeas lawyers, and posted just before Super Tuesday in the Democratic Primaries. It concluded:

Fed’s Lacker: New Bond Buying Won’t Work and Risks Fueling Inflation

Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond President Jeffrey Lacker said he opposed a decision by policy makers this week to press on with additional bond buying because the effort is ineffective and may speed up inflation.

“Further monetary stimulus now is unlikely to result in a discernible improvement in growth, but if it does, it’s also likely to cause an unwanted increase in inflation,” Lacker said in a statement Friday.

“Improvement in labor market conditions appears to have been held back by real impediments that are beyond the capacity of monetary policy to offset.”

Euro Uncertainty to Push US Into Recession

A combination of rising taxes and cuts to government spending coupled with continued murkiness out of Europe could send the U.S. economy into a recession in the first quarter of next year, said Laurence Fink, CEO of asset management giant BlackRock.

At the end of this year, the Bush-era tax cuts and other tax breaks are scheduled to expire at the same time public-spending cuts kick in, a combination known as a fiscal cliff that could send the country into a recession next year if left unchecked by Congress, according to estimates from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

Analysis: Americans to face tougher 2013 on rising prices, taxes

(Reuters) - Consumers will have to dig deeper into their pockets next year to pay for costlier healthcare, more expensive grocery bills and higher taxes, an extra drag on the country's already slow-moving economy.

The additional outlays look set to test the resilience of consumers, whose spending accounts for around two-thirds of the U.S. economy.

"We think it's going to be a difficult six to nine months," said Scott Hoyt, senior director of consumer economics for Moody's Analytics. "If anything, conditions are likely to get worse, particularly at the start of the year."

Obama moves to make the War on Terror permanent

A primary reason for opposing the acquisition of abusive powers and civil liberties erosions is that they virtually always become permanent, vested not only in current leaders one may love and trust but also future officials who seem more menacing and less benign.

The Washington Post has a crucial and disturbing story this morning by Greg Miller about the concerted efforts by the Obama administration to fully institutionalize – to make officially permanent – the most extremist powers it has exercised in the name of the war on terror.

State Department emails from day of Libya attack show Al Qaeda-tied group on radar

A series of internal State Department emails obtained by Fox News shows some of the initial assessments of last month's deadly consulate attack in Libya, including one email within hours of the attack that noted the group Ansar al Sharia had claimed responsibility.

The emails provide some of the most detailed information to surface about what officials knew in the initial hours after the attack. And it again raises questions about why U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice, apparently based on intelligence assessments, would claim five days after the attack that it was a 'spontaneous' reaction to protests over an anti-Islam film.

Informant: NYPD paid me to 'bait' Muslims

NEW YORK (AP) -- A paid informant for the New York Police Department's intelligence unit was under orders to "bait" Muslims into saying inflammatory things as he lived a double life, snapping pictures inside mosques and collecting the names of innocent people attending study groups on Islam, he told The Associated Press.

Shamiur Rahman, a 19-year-old American of Bangladeshi descent who has now denounced his work as an informant, said police told him to embrace a strategy called "create and capture."

How the Illuminati is Reordering the Middle East

In 1997, a group of Republicans formed a non-profit organization called the Project For A New American Century (PNAC). In their first white paper, Rebuilding America's Defenses, they proposed taking down Saddam Hussein, Iraq and then reordering the entire Middle East. Parenthetically, they admitted that selling such plans to the American people would take a long time, "absent some catastrophic catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor." (p.51)

September 11, 2001 was obviously just what they had in mind.

In 2000, the US Supreme Court selected another Bush as the 43rd US President and he waited until 9/11 to begin reordering the world.

CIA 'whistleblower' John Kiriakou jailed for two years for identity leak

A former CIA officer pleaded guilty Tuesday to leaking the identity of one of the agency's covert operatives to a reporter.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped charges against John Kiriakou, 48, that had been filed under the first world war-era Espionage Act. They also dropped a count of making false statements. Kiriakou's supporters argue that he is a whistleblower on issues including torture and the CIA's rendition program. All sides agreed to a prison term of two years.
