Seven members of the NYPD, including at least one detective and one sergeant, were arrested Wednesday as part of a sweeping Internal Affairs probe into gambling and prostitution, The Post has learned.

More than 40 civilians were also arrested — including a retired vice detective who is married to a prostitute, sources said.

The couple opened multiple brothels on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens and in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, the sources said.

The five-year probe included multiple wiretaps and centered on the retired officer, the sources said.

As part of Wednesday’s busts, Internal Affairs officers stormed the 72nd Precinct station house in Sunset Park, ordering the desk supervisor to accompany them downstairs to the locker room, where they clipped the lock on a detective’s locker, confiscating its contents, sources said.
